The tools have been created by members of the CIC and offer the community the first 4 stages of the RIBA plan of work pro-bono and open source. Our team of chartered construction professionals developed in-house API enabled survey tools drawing from registries like the Open Data Energy Performance Certificates, The Planning Portal, The Land Registry and Open Metro's weather data and more. We use your postcode and your house number only to call up these public data banks and then combine the public data to give you the kind of advice you would otherwise have to pay thousands for in constancy fees. For example: would you like to know how much money you could actually save on your actual heating bills by fitting a given thickness of insulation?
Yorkshire Igloo and Yorkshire Sauna are the first two ecommerce platforms to host these tools. They are open-source free-forever tools and no data is ever sold or shared with any company. Yorkshire Igloo is the first in the UK to use the SABS building system and is associated with Strata Group US after having much success in the desert climates of Arizona. The patents do not apply in the UK but the 2006 International Construction Code (ICC) does apply. - When delivered The Igloo is a box of foam reinforced with steel. It is vulnerable to UV damage and impact damage but is otherwise wind and waterproof.
- The exterior insulation is the same stuff as we use in wetrooms and can be tiled: and we are looking forward to doing our first one like this - but its a bit daunting.
- Usually we us fibreglass reinforced concrete render.
- On the inside some are left with the foam exposed, some clients want zigzag or pyramid patterns like an recording studio.
- Otherwise it is ready to plaster with drywall boards and sticky foam spray.
- The flooring is usually laminate. However with hardboard reinforcing the flooring insulation it can be anything.
- Your inclusion as a subcontractor depends on majority vote and we convert your postcode to the longitudes and latitudes and the nearest address to the site gets first refusal every time.
Not all of our applicants can afford The Igloo, and for other applicants The Igloo is unnecessarily affordable, or the date for their desired meterage is too far in the future. In the making of the online tools; the alpha testing yielded 6000 email, phone, address, and name combos; and the AI tools for green finance, neurodiversity and disability grants and tax advise yields a high volume of users per month.
Applicants gave details on their budget, desired build volume the data collected from client enquiries is valuable and joining is an excellent networking opportunity for Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Planning Officers and all occupations and professions chartered or otherwise. Members of the CIC are permitted and encouraged to independently build from our source of recycled source polystyrene and reuse code for onboarding purposes. The goal is to popularize the patented system so it becomes the normal way to build a garden room or office.
Members only are permitted to use the patented system and the trademarked phrase "The Igloo". Permitted to reuse the contracts and the CNC ready files, technical drawings and technical specifications and are rewarded for bringing clients of their own to our manufacturers.
Members meet each year and vote on leadership, and when members abuse their privileges or do not meet the minimum amount of pro-bono consultancy their membership is revoked by popular vote, your application also depends on popular vote. We are building an AI Certificate of Lawful Development Applicator - and we would love you to help. By law we cannot sell the collected data but we can share it with existing members.
